City of Jackson Mayoral Candidate, Announces Plan to Run for One Term

"I'm not running for a new career. I don't need eight years to clean up the mess. I need four, and I pledge to get this city back on the right track in one term," Allen said.

“I will push for term limits for the Jackson City Mayor. Jackson doesn’t need career politicians, and I’m going to make it harder to become one.”

Allen, who restores buildings professionally, compared the condition of city government to the kind of structure he sees in his work.

“I know a building can look fine from the street while the inside is full of leaks, eroding support, and compromised integrity,” Allen said. “That’s City Hall today.”

He outlined the priorities he intends to deliver on in office.

“As your Mayor, I will put the city’s finances back in order and make sure there are no more late audits,” Allen said. “I will restore trust in City Hall, bring violent crime down, beautify our city, and make City Hall the people’s building again.”

Allen said he does not intend to seek a second term.

“I’ll get that work done in one term,” Allen said. “Then I’ll return to my family, my business, and the community I love, to watch Jackson thrive.”
